The New Phantom 4 Pro V2 & Phantom 4 RTK (Real Time Kinematic)
In the Commercial Drone world RTK is required for centimeter level accuracy allowing a UAV to map out an area, stock pile or 3D model within 5cm level accuracy by using high precision GNSS satellite positioning. The Phantom 4 RTK model has yet to be officially announced but an FCC application and approval was granted on 11 April 2018 with FCC ID SS3-WM334R1801 which gives us some insight.
Two approvals have been accepted namely GL300K1801 (remote) and GL300L1801 (remote) referenced against model number PH4C100 (Drone) which makes sense as a RTK model requires a more advanced remote system. The two models released will most likely be for the Phantom 4 Pro V2 and the Phantom 4 Pro RTK.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
FCC approvals only have a 45 day window so we should see this Phantom 4 RTK launched before the end of May. South African pricing is yet to be confirmed.
From a presentation I had access to it seems to be a modified Phantom 4 Pro. Has a 20MP sensor and seems to be using the same 15.2 V batteries we know from the current DJI Phantom 4 Pro range.
